Hamburg Games Conference 2023: 30+ speakers, panels, networking and more

The Hamburg Games Conference is drawing near, with just three weeks to go until March 1 & 2! Right on schedule, the conference line-up is now complete, so let's take a look at the newcomers who bring several fascinating talks and panels for both the main track on "Invest in Games" and the complimentary second track on dev, funding and marketing topics to the table.

New to the Hamburg Games Conference program are, to name just a few:

Stephanie Marchand, who will kick off the conference with a keynote on how Canada's biggest indie studio, Behaviour Interactive, has thrived and weathered the industry waters for more than 30 years as an independent industry player.

Matthew Short (Managing Director of investment bank Aream & Co) will talk about the development of the games market in light of recent M&A deals, and Christopher Chancey (ManaVoid Entertainment & Indie Asylum) will tell us all about his indie accelerator. Also added to the program is a panel hosted by Shum Singh (Agnito Capital), during which Arnd Benninghoff (MTG), Janosch Kühn (BLN Capital), and Ole Schaper (Sviper) will discuss M&A market trends.

We're also looking forward to an interesting discussion of salary transparency featuring Dr. Andreas Lieb (InnoGames), Alexander Krug (Softgames), Susan J. Moldenhauer (career coach, consultant, and author) and Steffen Behn (celebrate company), hosted by Florian Gontek (Spiegel).

The latest trends and challenges in marketing will also be front and centre during a panel with Thorsten Hamdorf (Jung von Matt Nerd), Nikolas Angerstein (MSM.digital), Dirk Ludewig (NerdStar) and John-Dustin Martin (1UP Management).

Additionally, DZ Bank will contribute an exclusive workshop titled "Crafting your equity story: Show investors that you are a gem" to the program.

On top of this, there's a very special opportunity for all indie devs: during the "Pitch Royal" devs can present their projects in front of a jury of publishers (among others, Catherine Bygrave (Humble Games), Jerome Zenker (Assemble Entertainment), and Philipp Döschl (FDG Entertainment) and the organizers of the Indie Arena Booth, and win a free spot at the joint booth at gamescom!

That's not all, talks by Jasmin Pfeiffer (DigiTales Interactive), Ata Sergey Nowak (Torpor Games) and Casilda de Zulueta have also joined the program.

But these are just the latest updates to the program, you can find the complete line-up and schedule on the official website of the Hamburg Games Conference.

Aside from the extensive talks and panel program, the Hamburg Games Conference is also the perfect place for matchmaking and networking with the German and international games industry. Guests can use MeetToMatch to find valuable new contacts in adavance and then meet face-to-face in the conference's Business Area. Also, there will be a get-together on the first evening of the conference, providing even more opportunities for expanding your network.

We're looking forward to two days packed with learning and networking! The Hamburg Games Conference will take place on March 1 & 2 at the Altonaer Museum, get your tickets here and enjoy access to the full conference and access to the MeetToMatch program.
